Quickship is faster way to create labels in ShipStation. When enabled and active, a single click will set your batch to create labels in the background, skipping the Cost Summary screen and print selection pop-up.
It skips the cost summary screen which reviews the rate details, allows for one-time postage purchase, overrides the scheduled ship date, and displays warnings that may influence your shipping decisions.
It routes label processing to the background via the Label Queue, so that you can ship order after order without all the related confirmation dialogs.
It consolidates recently created labels in the Label Queue, so that you have the option to print all of those queued labels in bulk rather than one at a time.
It can be configured so Quickshipped labels print out of your Connect-enabled printer as soon as they're done processing in the Label Queue.
Since Quickship is so fast and so powerful, you may not want it active all the time. Switch it ON or OFF while you're working with orders in the Orders tab.
Select an order from the Orders grid.
You’ll need to have an order selected for Quickship to be available.
Click the green lightning bolt icon attached to any Create Label button to turn ON Quickship.
Watch the Label Queue icon on the toolbar:
The Create Label button will then turn orange to indicate Quickship is now active.
Click the Create Label button to create a label using Quickship.
ShipStation will start processing the labels in the background, and you can continue to work in ShipStation.
Open the Label Queue to view your labels.
To deactivate Quickship again, click the orange lightning bolt next to the Create Label button. When the button is green again, Quickship is no longer active.
If you are using a pay-on-create carrier (like USPS or ShipStation Carrier Services), we highly recommend enabling auto-funding.
Set your shipping cutoff time so ShipStation automatically rolls the scheduled Ship Date forward after a certain time of day.
Configure your Label Queue so Quickshipped orders automatically print when they're done processing, are marked as printed, and/or are archived to remove them from the Label Queue.
If any part of the label-creation process fails, check the Label Queue for details.
Be aware of potential warnings Quickship will skip. There are two specific warnings that will prevent labels from being created with Quickship:
"This order has already been shipped." Quickship is valid only for the initial shipment or an order.
"Inventory Warning: Stock level has not been provided." If you have Track Inventory enabled in your ShipStation account, you must set stock levels for tracked items otherwise the label will fail on orders containing items with no set stock level.
Quickship is enabled by default for your entire account. To disable or enable Quickship on an account-wide basis, do the following:
Find the General Preferences tab and set Quickship to either Enabled or Disabled, depending on your needs.
If you disable Quickship this way, you will also disable the Label Queue.
Click Save Changes.
You (and any other user on your account) will need to log out and log back into ShipStaton to see the change reflected in the app.
Since the Quickship feature allows users to skip the screen with the rate details and shipping warnings during the label creation process, you may want to require some or all of your users to review the Cost Summary Screen every time they ship an order.
To block Quickship at the user-level (but keep it active on the account-level), do the following:
Find the username that needs to be blocked from Quickship, and click the Edit link on the same row as their username.
Click the Restrictions tab and check the box for Require this user to view the cost summary screen and any warnings when shipping orders. Block QuickShip.
Repeat this process for every user that needs this restriction.
The next time a blocked user logs in, they won't have access to Quickship.
The Label Queue is a feature in ShipStation that is enabled/disabled alongside Quickship.
The Label Queue stores your most recently created single-labels and batches (whether Quickship was used or not) for easy access and printing from anywhere in the app.
To view the, click the Label Queue icon in the top right toolbar.
The Label Queue will close itself if you navigate to a new page in the app, but you can pin it down to keep it open as you move throughout the app. Whether or not you have the Label Queue open, there'll be a small notification letting you know how many labels have been processed since the last time you checked.
Your newest label requests will be at the top. The Label Queue displays either the ten most recent requests or only the requests from the past two days - whichever number is smaller.
You can do these three thing s in the Label Queue:
Print labels, packing slips, and pick lists via the links within each request or check the boxes for multiple requests and use the bulk Print action.
Mark labels as printed.
Archive the labels you've already processed, which clears out the Label Queue.
If there's a problem during label creation or batch processing, the Label Queue provides a direct link to that order's Order Details screen with a note corresponding to the failure(s).
Within a request, click on the X Failed link, and then on the individual orders to try to resolve any issues within their respective Order Details screens. When done, close out of those Order Details screens and then click Retry all failures to reattempt your request.
The Label Queue has a few settings to alter how it interacts with Quickship.
View and edit these settings by clicking the small gear icon on the right side of the Label Queue.
Here are settings you should see:
Description and Options
Print labels immediately upon completion
Automatically mark as printed when labels are printed
Automatically archive labels when marked as printed
If you enable all three settings and click Return to Queue, all of your Quickship labels can print as soon as they're finished processing, then automatically mark themselves as printed, and finally auto-archive themselves to leave the Label Queue.
Set a Default Printer
Set a default printer for your labels using a ShipStation Connect-enabled printer. Combined with the first Quickship setting enabled, this allows you to process and print your labels with a single click!
