How to add a Volo Commerce store to ShipStation, what features are available, and other need-to-know details.

ShipStation's Volo Commerce integration allows you to import your orders from Volo, no matter from which source they originated, so you can use ShipStation’s label creation and other shipment management features. ShipStation, in turn, notifies Volo for each order shipped via ShipStation, keeping Volo up to date while you continue to use all the order and inventory management options Volo has to offer.

Volo Commerce Requirements

Connection Requirements:

  • An active account with Volo Commerce.

  • Your Volo account Username, Password, and API Key.

  • An API user set up in Volo Commerce. Review Volo's article about how to create a user for the API to learn how.

Order Import Requirements:

  • Must include a Ship To address.

Connect a Volo Commerce store to ShipStation

Follow the steps below to connect Volo Commerce to ShipStation:

  1. Log into Volo Origin.

  2. Create an API user in Volo's Maintenance tab.

    Review Volo's help article for steps on how to create a User for the API in Volo.

  3. Open a web browser and log in to your ShipStation account.

  4. Select the Volo Commerce tile.

  5. Enter the Username, Password, and API Key for the API user into ShipStation.

  6. Click Connect.

After you've completed the connection steps, your store will be connected to ShipStation. You'll be taken to the store's Settings page to adjust the store-specific settings like branding, notification preferences, and product handling.

This integration allows you to define the Status Mappings for the store connection.

ShipStation will import the customer email address and can send customer shipment notification and delivery emails.

ShipStation will import the customer phone number.

ShipStation will import the shipping method chosen by the customer at time of checkout.

ShipStation will import the payment method used to pay for the order.

ShipStation will import discount and coupon information for the order.

ShipStation is able to determine if an order was placed as a gift.

ShipStation will import internal notes or order activity from the selling channel.

ShipStation will import notes left by the customer at time of checkout. Displayed as Customer notes in ShipStation's Legacy Layout.

ShipStation will import the total order weight from the selling channel.

ShipStation will import the weight for each line item in the order.

ShipStation will import an image URL for each line item in the order.

ShipStation will import item options (such as color or size) for each line item in the order.

ShipStation will import a product stock location for each line item in the order.

Additional Details about the Volo Commerce Integration

Keep the following in mind about ShipStation's integration with Volo Commerce:

  • With the exception of orders cancelled in Volo Commerce, all orders will be treated as Awaiting Shipment in ShipStation. ShipStation cannot recognize if a Volo Commerce order was shipped through an alternate service.

  • ShipStation does not import order tax amounts from Volo Commerce.
